Born in 1975 Ben has always lived in Holyrood, part of Bury.  Ben went to
primary and secondary school in the ward and he has also worked in the ward
too.

Ben has always had an active interest in Politics from a very early age and he
remembers a visit to Radcliffe in 1983 by Michael Foot during the election
campaign.  He remembers the 1987 general election and how close Labour came
to winning in 1992 when he was sixteen.  Ben joined the Labour Party in 2001
and became very active during the general election campaign and he first stood
for council in 2004.  Ben is very proud to have been part of the Labour
Movement during the successful thirteen years they were in power and will
continue to work hard to make sure Labour return to Government in 2015, if not
earlier.

Away from Politics, Ben enjoys family history, some football, reading, writing,
history in general especially world war II.
